The course took place in the Almonte Public Library, which is a very inviting space.
I ended up attending this course after seeing it advertised in The Millstone, a daily post giving local news, events, and other offerings. I felt that the ALTC course would be most useful for me since my skills need improvement I had never explored more than I really needed to use for my purposes. I am taking the Intermediate Computer Course which covers lesson on Word, Excel, and Power Point, funded by the Province of Ontario and given by the Adult Learning and Training Centre in Smith Falls.
My personal goal was to increase my knowledge of Microsoft word; I had never explored more then I really needed to for my purposes. I use Excel but certainly not to anywhere near its capacity I was interested to learn more.
This was an exceptionally good course, and I am most grateful that the province offers such opportunities, locally, free of charge with a well thought out programme. I will certainly use my new skills in my volunteer work with Almonte in Concert and in my personal life. I aim to develop these skills further and hope the province continues to fund such initiatives.
